um...i give up

a wise man once said "plans are like records...they're made to be broken."  so we get a call from the hospital last night about an hour before we're supposed to go in.  apparently the full moon that just passed sent too many women into labor (except my wife) and they have no available beds "so we're gonna have to reschedule."  great.  so after making ANOTHER call to home depot to reschedule appliance delivery and calming my beautiful trooper-for-a-wife down, we reschedule for today.  so now i'm sending my wife to get pampered today at the pedicure type places that women love to go to while i move some more loose goods over to the new house :)

day 2...check

ok, so i think we've officially made it through day 2 of recognition week.  unfortunately, the doc decided to throw a wrench into our well planned out week.  so apparently the witch nurse from last saturday was correct in stating that miranda was not as far along as she thought she was.  the doc confirmed that things are progressing...in reverse.  what???  i didn't even know that was possible.  whatever.  so they want us to come in tomorrow night to begin the "artificial help-mommy-along" process which will be followed by the actual inducing thursday morning if all goes well.  i am so glad i'm not a woman.  soooooooo, tomorrow morning we'll be heading over to the title place to close on our house.  then we'll make a couple trips to the house with a bunch of "loose stuff" to help the saturday moving crew work a little smoother.  then we report for duty at the hospital by 8:00 p.m. (2000 hrs for you military types).  hopefully this well bring us a healthy baby by Close Of Business thursday :)  any bets on what it's gonna be?  miranda thinks it's a boy and i keep trying to tell her i'm destined for four girls.  she also thought aubriee was gonna be a boy so that makes me the only member in the household who is currently batting 1.000 (for you non-baseball types, that means i haven't missed yet :) haha).  so anyways, i'm not sure how soon i'll be back to post pictures, but hopefully i'll be able to slip away for a bit on friday (the new date for appliance delivery...agghhh) and post a few.  don't hold me to it thought :)

recognition

so way back (like 7 years ago) many of you know that i was having an absolute blast going through freshman year at the academy.  well, the culmination of freshmen year amounted to a 40 day lead up to "hell week" where the beat downs progressively got worse until that final 4 day stretch of what we like to call "recognition."  why do i bring this up you might ask?  well i've decided to rename this week, recognition week.  and day one is in the bag.  we had a great orientation this morning pointing out the minor things that still needed to be fixed before we close on wednesday (paint touch-ups, dirty siding, etc.) and when we went back to check on the house tonight everything was done except for the paint crew which was already scheduled to come do touch-ups tomorrow.  so one day down, 5 more to go.  still no baby yet and it's giving us signs that he/she may just go easy on us and wait until the latter half of the week before saying hello.  cross your fingers.  we scheduled another quick stop into home depot tomorrow because the day wasn't quite full enough in our minds.  other than that, things are going pretty smoothly so far (knock on wood).  i'm sure my posts will get longer as the week goes on if things get a little crazy.

brace yourself...you may want to sit down.

ok people, if anybody wants to switch places with me this week be my guest.  here's watch on the agenda this week:

Monday: New Home Orientation

Tuesday: Doctor's appointment to see how far Miranda's progressed and see what the deal is going on with this baby :)

Wednesday: Close on the new house

Thursday: All the new appliances get delivered, a couple walls need to get painted, put up the ceiling fans, and install the coach lights.

Friday: Miranda's family arrives...hopefully ready to finish anything that didn't get finished from the previous day.

Saturday: Pick up the U-haul, gather the posse, and move all of our stuff over to the new house...and set at least some of the decor up.

Oh...and have a baby some where in there.

So, the bidding to replace me this week will begin at $1.

Crap...

well...false alarm.  (obviously)  one of the nurses was not very nice about it either.  the two other nurses and the doctor were very nice when we got there, getting her water/juice/whatever she needed.  and then like 20 minutes after we get there, this witch comes in and looks at the graph and says: "i'm not impressed."  and then goes on this long speech about prelabor contractions are normal and the doctor who checked miranda at her last appointment was wrong about how far along she was dialated and thinned and blah blah blah.  and miranda explained how her pregnancy with aubriee went and she comes back with "every pregnancy is different" and more blah blah blah.  really???  becomes unless i'm mistaken, they are very particular about every detail of previous labor and what not.  sooooooooo anyways, we're back home now just hanging out.  on a positive note, we stopped by the house on thursday and the porch was done and today the ground was leveled out and ready for sod :)  so here's pretty much the final view of the front of the house sans greenery and coach lights.

QUICK post...

ok, quick post...cuz we have to run to the hospital and have a baby...YAY!!!  But here's one more pick of Aubriee during her first oreo dipping lesson :)  and a quick story from last night.  So me and aubriee are watching E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial last night and she see's E.T. come on the screen and this is what she says: "BOY!  Boy daddy!  Boy!"  Now if only she would keep the boys=aliens mentality for the next 20 years?

Ok, now off to the hospital...wish us luck!! :) :)

The squeaky wheel...

Do you remember that list of discrepancies i mentioned in my post yesterday?  Well we show up on the job site today and there's a guy barking out orders, list in hand, telling miranda his job is to take care of our list.  like shootin fish in a barrel boys and girls, fish in a barrel.  i can give 'git er done' lessons if anybody needs them...jaime? :)  and the carpet got installed, too!  almost home.  here's a couple more pics of the soon-to-be big sister :)

new princess jammies...

As promised...

Here are the pics that i promised...

can you tell aubriee isn't quite sure about the fires the chef was making at the steakhouse?

001

and here is our air force pilot in training...

012

now if you look closely at this next picture, you can see that aubriee is trying to pour water into one of the "shooting" water fountains...it didn't take long for her to realize her predicament...

011

and here is mommy hanging in there like a trooper at about 38 weeks...

003

and here are a couple from the house.  entrance light and driveway/sidewalk after concrete was poored. i know, boring stuff.  don't worry, i'll do a walk-thru with the video camera  once the carpet goes in and then again after we get all the appliances installed and accent walls painted and decorated and what not.
